Jeff Merritt became a member of the team at Herlong Sotheby’s International in the fall of 2024, after establishing himself as an expert in the Lake Keowee, SC market. For Jeff, true luxury lies in the unique connection a home brings to its owner.

Born in Annapolis, Maryland, Jeff grew up as the son of a Navy officer, which meant calling many places home. Jeff ’s childhood included years living in Guam and Beaufort, South Carolina, but he eventually found his way to the Upstate – he is a 2008 Clemson graduate.

After college, Jeff coached basketball at a high level, working in programs at elite high schools and colleges across the county -- coaching two NBA draft picks in the process. Jeff ’s coaching career notably includes time as an Associate Head Coach at Legacy Early College in Greenville, during which time Legacy maintained a nationally-ranked program. Jeff credits the communication and preparation skills he mastered during his time as an elite basketball coach as a foundational reason for his success as a real estate professional today.

Jeff's philosophy of real estate is: whether you’re buying or selling, you’re in direct competition with other buyers and sellers, which is where Jeff thrives. His real estate career began in 2018; Jeff was named Rookie of the Year that same year, followed by Top Producer in 2020 and Platinum Club Producer in 2019, 2021 and 2022, for another firm. In 2022, he was named Real Producers Magazine Rising Star of the Year. Jeff also boasts the largest sale in the history of Lake Jocassee.

When he’s not taking the real estate market by storm, Jeff can be found golfing, at the lake, traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, or enjoying a high-quality meal at a nice restaurant.
